With the arrival of COVID-19, a national lockdown and individual shielding notices NCDT were tasked by Lamancha, Newlands & Kirkurd Community Council (LNK CC) to provide coordination and support services to our area via a Resilient Community Hub.
Newlands Activity Centre became the central ‘Hub’ dealing with support enquiries and coordinating local Volunteers using the systems we have developed for Newlands Volunteers.
Whilst the Resilient Community Hubs were ‘stood down’ in mid August at the end of the notified Shielding period we continue to offer support and advice as required and are prepared to remobilise our volunteers should a local or national Shielding or Lockdown notice be advised.
With the introduction of the latest lockdown on 26th December 2020 the LNK Resilient Community Hub is offering support and coordination across Lamancha, Newlands, Kirkurd, Dolphinton, West Linton and Carlops.
Our 0800 number is active for anyone requiring any assistance with shopping, isolation, transport, finances, dog walking, your iPad, Laptop, Mobile phone or any other matters.
